| Founded on March 14, 1903, Mexicali is situated on the U.S.-Mexico border adjacent to Calexico, California. Mexicali is also the capital of the state of Baja California, Mexico. Mexicali is an important city for agriculture and industry in Mexico and represents one of the fastest growing and most prosperous cities in Mexico.
